In 2005 Selma received a BA in Psychology and a BA in Political Science from NC Central University. She obtained a MA in Mental Health Counseling in 2008 from NC Central. She participated in additional studies through the UNC Chapel Hill’s School of Social Work substance use certificate program. Selma joined Carolina Outreach in 2008. She gained clinical experience throughout the years serving clients in multiple programs such as the Intensive In-home, Community Support Team, Substance Use Disorder Treatment through Seven Challenges, DBT,  ACT, etc. She also served as the agency’s Independent Living Program Coordinator. After relocating to Charlotte, she was recruited as the Charlotte ACT Team Lead in 2015. She supported the Charlotte site in growing by starting additional programs and eventually transitioned into her current role of Charlotte Site Manager.
